  • 7 grams of freshly ground coffee beans
  • A French press or a Moka pot
  • A stovetop
  • A cup of milk
  • A burr grinder
  • A shot glass or demitasse cup
  • A hand frother or a french press plunger
  • cocoa powder or cinnamon (optional)

Before you begin, it's important to note that the grind size of the coffee beans is crucial for making a good cappuccino. The beans should be ground as fine as possible, similar to the grind you would use for espresso. If you don't have a burr grinder, you can use a blade grinder and grind the beans on the finest setting.

Instructions:

  1. Begin by gathering all your equipment. You'll need a French press or Moka pot, a burr grinder, a stovetop, a shot glass or demitasse cup, and a hand frother or a french press plunger.

  2. Start by grinding your coffee beans. Use high-quality, freshly roasted beans and grind them on the finest setting using a burr grinder. Place the ground coffee in your French press or Moka pot.

  3. Bring a cup of milk to a simmer over medium heat. Use a hand frother or a french press plunger to froth the milk until it is thick and creamy.

  4. Start heating water on the stove, bring it to a temperature just before boiling, usually around 200F.

  5. For French press method: place the French press on the stovetop and add the hot water. Gently press down the plunger after 4 minutes.

  6. For Moka pot method: add the hot water to the bottom chamber of the Moka pot. Place the Moka pot on the stovetop and let it simmer until the coffee starts to flow into the top chamber.

  7. Once your coffee is brewed, pour it into the shot glass or demitasse cup.

  8. Pour the frothed milk on top of the coffee, creating a layer of foam.

  9. Sprinkle some cocoa powder or cinnamon on top for a more flavorful experience.

  10. Serve the cappuccino hot and enjoy!
